Who we are

A nonprofit working for a fair and inclusive society

Prerit Welfare Foundation is a nonprofit organisation based in New Delhi, dedicated to empowering underprivileged communities through education, healthcare, women empowerment, environmental care and skill development.

We work with children, women, young people and families who have been left behind - not as passive recipients of charity, but as partners in building a better future for themselves and their neighbourhoods. Our volunteers, volunteer teachers and supporters give their time and skills so that practical help reaches the people who need it.

  • Learning support for children and adults
  • Health awareness, camps and referral support
  • Skills, livelihoods and Self-Help Groups for women
  • Care for the environment and sustainable living
  • Relief support during floods and emergencies
Our purpose

Why we do this work

Across India, many families still face barriers that others take for granted: a child who cannot continue school, a woman with skills but no way to earn from them, a household that does not know which welfare scheme it is entitled to, or a community hit by floods with nowhere to turn.

Prerit Welfare Foundation exists to help close these gaps. We bring together volunteers, teachers, donors and local partners to provide practical support - learning, health awareness, skills, relief and guidance - delivered with respect for the people we serve.

In Hindi, prerit (प्रेरित) means inspired. Our hope is that every activity inspires the next one: a student who is helped today becomes a volunteer tomorrow. Our motto says it simply - मिलकर बनाये बेहतर कल, together let us build a better tomorrow.

How we work

From need to action

A simple, transparent process guides every activity we run.

  1. 1

    Listen and understand

We speak with community members, local volunteers and partners to understand real needs before planning anything.

  2. 2

    Plan with the community

Activities are designed together with the people they are meant for, using the resources and skills available locally.

  3. 3

    Act with volunteers

Volunteers, volunteer teachers and staff carry out the work, following our volunteer and child protection policies.

  4. 4

    Record and report

We keep records of what was done and publish reports and campaign utilisation details once they are verified.
