Overview

Digital skills are everyday life skills

From paying a bill to applying for a scheme or attending an online class, more and more of daily life happens on a phone or computer. People without digital skills – or without awareness of online fraud – risk being left behind or cheated.

Our Digital Learning programme teaches practical digital skills in simple language. Learners start with the basics of using a smartphone or computer, then learn to use online services, stay safe online and make digital payments safely.

Sessions are hands-on and patient, so that first-time users, women and senior citizens feel comfortable learning.

  • First-time users who are unsure where to start
  • Online and payment fraud that targets the unaware
  • Online services and forms that are hard to navigate
  • Children who need guidance on safe internet use

How we work

Our approach

Every activity follows a simple, accountable process.

  1. 1

    Find the starting point

We find out what each learner already knows and what they want to be able to do.

  2. 2

    Learn on real devices

Learners practise on phones and computers, at their own pace.

  3. 3

    Build safe habits

Every session includes simple rules for staying safe online.

  4. 4

    Practise & revise

Learners repeat tasks until they can do them on their own.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own phone or computer to join?
No. Wherever possible, learners can practise on devices available at our sessions, and on their own phones if they have one.
I have never used a smartphone. Can I still join?
Yes. Sessions start from the very basics and go at the learner’s pace. Senior citizens and first-time users are welcome.
What should I do if I have been cheated online?
Call the national cyber crime helpline 1930 as soon as possible or report at cybercrime.gov.in, and inform your bank immediately. Never share an OTP, PIN or password with anyone.
Can I donate an old laptop or phone?
Please contact us before donating a device so that we can confirm it is needed and can be used safely, with your personal data removed.
