Overview

Standing with communities when disaster strikes

Floods, storms, fires and other disasters can take away homes, livelihoods and a sense of safety overnight. The first days and weeks are the hardest.

Our Disaster Relief programme provides food, drinking water, essential supplies, and hygiene and health support to affected families, working with volunteers and local groups to reach people in a coordinated way. Earlier relief campaigns of the foundation include Bihar Flood Relief and Assam Flood Relief.

Relief campaigns are opened only when there is a real need, and campaign progress shows verified donations only. After the emergency, we stay to help families recover.

  • Families who lose food, shelter and belongings
  • Need for clean water, hygiene and health care
  • Disruption of children’s education
  • Loss of livelihoods after the emergency

How we work

Our approach

Every activity follows a simple, accountable process.

  1. 1

    Assess

We gather information from local volunteers and community members about who is affected and what is needed.

  2. 2

Open a campaign only if needed

A relief campaign is opened only when there is a real need, with clear information on how the funds will be used.

  3. 3

    Distribute

Supplies are distributed in a coordinated, orderly way with volunteers.

  4. 4

    Report

We share updates on the relief work, and campaign progress shows verified donations only.

Who we work with

Relief is provided on the basis of need, without discrimination.

  • Families affected by floods, storms, fires and other disasters
  • Elderly people, pregnant women and young children
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Daily-wage workers who lose their livelihood
  • Children whose education is disrupted

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no disaster relief campaign open right now?
We open relief campaigns only when there is a real need. When a campaign is open, it is listed on our Campaigns page with details of how the funds will be used.
How do I know my donation reached the relief work?
Every verified donation receives a receipt, campaign progress shows verified donations only, and utilisation reports are published on our website once they are ready.
Can I volunteer during a disaster?
Yes. Register as a volunteer and mention disaster relief in your interests. Relief work can be demanding, so volunteers are briefed and given tasks that match their skills and the situation.
Someone is collecting money for flood relief in your name. Is it genuine?
Donate only through the Donate page on this website. If you receive a suspicious appeal, please report it through our Report Fraud page.
