Overview

Good health is the foundation of a good life

For many families, a visit to a doctor means losing a day’s wages, travelling a long distance or not knowing where to go at all. Small health problems are often ignored until they become serious.

Our Healthcare programme works to close this gap. We organise health camps and screenings with qualified doctors and health workers, run awareness sessions on prevention, hygiene and nutrition, and help people reach the right hospital, clinic or government health service when they need further care.

We do not replace doctors or hospitals – we help families connect with them in time.

  • Low awareness of the early signs of illness
  • Distance and cost of reaching a doctor
  • Women and elderly people who postpone their own care
  • Confusion about where to go for further treatment

How we work

Our approach

Every activity follows a simple, accountable process.

  1. 1

    Identify the need

We speak with community members and local volunteers to understand the most pressing health concerns.

  2. 2

    Plan the camp or session

Each activity is planned with qualified doctors or health workers and announced in the community in advance.

  3. 3

    Check-up & advice

People receive check-ups, advice and information in a respectful and private setting.

  4. 4

    Follow up

Where further care is needed, we guide families to the right service and stay in touch until they are connected.

Who we work with

Families who find it hard to reach care

Our health activities are open to everyone in the communities we serve, with special care for those most at risk.

  • Families in urban settlements and villages with limited access to doctors
  • Women and adolescent girls
  • Senior citizens
  • Daily-wage workers who cannot afford to miss work
  • Children who need regular check-ups
  • People who need guidance on further treatment
