Awareness campaigns

Knowledge that changes lives

Many problems in our communities can be prevented or solved when people have the right information at the right time.

Our awareness campaigns take simple, practical information to people where they are - in neighbourhoods, schools, colleges, community centres and online. Volunteers use conversations, demonstrations, posters, street plays and small group sessions so that the message is understood and remembered.

  • Led by briefed volunteers, often with local partners
  • In simple Hindi, English or the local language
  • Focused on information people can act on
  • Linked to services and schemes people can use

How campaigns run

From planning to follow-up

  1. 1

    Choose the theme and place

We pick a topic based on local needs or an awareness day, and agree a venue with community members or a school.

  2. 2

    Brief the volunteers

Volunteers are briefed on the topic, the key messages and how to answer common questions.

  3. 3

    Reach people

Sessions, door-to-door conversations, demonstrations or street plays share the message in simple language.

  4. 4

    Connect and follow up

People are guided to the services and schemes they need, and their questions shape the next campaign.
