Check a letter
Both details are printed in small type at the bottom of every authorization letter: "Verify at … · Ref: … · Code: …".
For privacy, this page shows only whether a letter is valid, its date, a partly hidden name and the school - never identity or contact details.
How to check a letter
Our coordinators issue authorization letters to volunteer teachers who are placed in schools. Two details are printed in small type at the bottom of every letter: a reference number such as EIF/2026/012 (a prefix, the year and a serial number) and an 8-character verification code made of letters and digits, such as ABCD-EF23. Enter both exactly as printed; the hyphen in the code is optional.
- Valid means the foundation issued the letter and has not withdrawn it. Compare the date, the partly hidden name and the school with the paper letter.
- Revoked means the letter was withdrawn and must not be relied on.
- No matching letter means the details did not match. Check for typing mistakes first.
If a letter still does not match, or someone asks for money for a letter or a placement, do not rely on it and tell us through our Report Fraud page. We never charge any fee for volunteering or for an authorization letter.
