About the programme

Staying safe in a digital world

As more services move online, so do frauds and scams. This programme helps people recognise common threats and take simple steps to protect themselves, their families and their savings.

Sessions explain, in everyday language, how phishing, fake calls, OTP and UPI frauds, fake job offers and social media scams work - and what to do if something goes wrong, including how to report cyber crime through official channels.

For students and young people, sessions also cover privacy settings, safe use of social media, respectful behaviour online and dealing with cyberbullying. Nothing in these sessions requires sharing your own passwords or personal details.

  • Raise awareness of common online frauds and scams
  • Teach practical habits that protect personal data and money
  • Help students use the internet and social media safely and respectfully
  • Explain how to report cyber crime through official channels
