About this day

Proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1992, this day on 3 December promotes the rights, dignity and full inclusion of persons with disabilities in every part of society.

How you can take part

  • Check that your school, workplace or event is accessible to everyone.
  • Learn about the disability certificate (UDID card) and the schemes it gives access to.
  • Include persons with disabilities when you plan community activities.

Organise an awareness activity with us

Schools, colleges, resident welfare associations and community groups can plan a talk, drive or campaign around this day with our volunteers.
