About this day

National Pollution Control Day is observed in India on 2 December in memory of those who lost their lives in the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy, and to raise awareness about preventing pollution.

How you can take part

  • Do not burn waste; segregate dry and wet waste at home.
  • Use public transport, cycle or walk for short trips.
  • Plant and care for trees in your neighbourhood.

Organise an awareness activity with us

Schools, colleges, resident welfare associations and community groups can plan a talk, drive or campaign around this day with our volunteers.
