About this day

World AIDS Day has been observed on 1 December every year since 1988 to show support for people living with HIV, remember those who have died and push for prevention, testing and treatment.

How you can take part

  • Learn the facts about HIV and challenge stigma and discrimination.
  • Know where free, confidential HIV testing is available near you.
  • Wear a red ribbon and share accurate information with young people.

Organise an awareness activity with us

Schools, colleges, resident welfare associations and community groups can plan a talk, drive or campaign around this day with our volunteers.
